Make Peace Plates
Materials: paper plates, masking tape, paint, brushes
Materials: paper plates, masking tape, paint, brushes
This easy art project celebrates Dr. King’s message of peace.
In advance, use masking tape to make a peace sign on the back of a paper plate. Then let your child paint the back of the plate using a variety of colors.
When the paint is dry, peel off the tape to reveal a beautiful peace sign!
Ask your child: what does it mean to be peaceful? How was Dr. King peaceful?
If you make multiple plates, discuss how each peace plate is unique – just like people are! Each is beautiful in its own special way.
