Word Activity
Rhymes With “Shark”
Materials: Paper, writing utensil
Materials: Paper, writing utensil
Have your child come up with as many words as they can that rhyme with “shark.” Then help them write a poem in which each line ends with a rhyming word.
Hint: If your child needs help thinking of more words that rhyme with shark, go through the letters of the alphabet and see if you can find others.
Example:
I swim like a shark
At the pool in the park
I swim ‘til it’s dark
Until the streetlights spark
And we leave with lifeguard Mark
Optional: Feel free to have your child draw a picture to go with their poem!
