Safety Activity
Make a Video!

Your child just learned about helmet safety. Now, it’s time for them to teach others!
First, get a kids’ bike helmet. Next, review these “two-finger rules” with your child:
How do you know your helmet is in the right position on your head? Put two fingers, flat and horizontally on your forehead, just above the eyebrow. The bottom of the helmet should come to the edge of your fingers.
How do you know if your helmet is on tightly enough? You should only be able to fit two fingers between the strap and your skin. If you can fit more than two fingers, tighten that strap!
Now, your child will film a “how-to” video. Open a recording app on a laptop, tablet, or phone.
Lights, camera, action! Your child can demonstrate how to properly wear a helmet. They can add other bike safety tips in their video if they want.
Share the video with family and friends to make sure everyone knows how to stay safe!
