Writing Activity

Write a Wolf Story

Materials: paper, pencil

In this activity, your child will write a story about a heroic wolf.

Ask your child about the wolf in Lon Po Po. Was he a good guy or a bad guy in the story? Remind your child that even though wolves in folktales and other stories are usually the bad guys, or villains, they aren’t bad in real life.

Then have your child write a story about a wolf who’s the good guy, or hero. Ask your child questions to get them going. Will it be a silly story or a serious story? Who will the wolf help? What happens first? What happens next? What happens at the end of the story? Encourage them to incorporate some of the information they just learned about wolves. When they’re done, they can illustrate the story too!
