Will It Melt in the Sun?
Materials: a muffin tin, various small objects, paper/notebook, writing utensil

The sun is the very big and very hot star at the center of our solar system. Help your child collect a few different objects and place them in a muffin tin. (Example objects: a coin, a crayon, a paperclip, an ice cube, butter, etc.)
Which of these objects does your child think will melt in the sun?
Have your child write their predictions on a sheet of paper or in a notebook. Then place the muffin tin by a window or outside on a sunny day. After a few hours, check the muffin tin to see your results!
Which predictions were correct? Did any of the results surprise you?
