How Many Spoons?

Scientists measure things. They write their measurements in a notebook. You can use everyday objects like spoons, pencils, or even sneakers to measure things around your home.

Start by finding something to measure, like a bed, table, or rug.

Measure the object with a spoon.

Write the result in a notebook: How many spoons long was it?

Measure other objects this way, and record the data.
When you finish, write down which object was the most spoons long. Which object was the fewest spoons long? How many more spoons long was the longest object than the shortest?
