Explore Gravity
Materials: a few small items such as a crayon, a stuffed toy, a block or LEGO® brick, a paper clip, an apple, a dried bean

Your child will put on their engineering hat for this fun hands-on activity!
Gather a few small items such as the ones mentioned above. (Note: Don’t use items like crumpled paper or a feather.)
Ask your child: If you drop two things at the same time from the same height, which do you predict will hit the ground first?
Drop the objects and see what happens! Try it with other objects of different weights. Remind your child that gravity makes the objects fall. Gravity pulls things toward the Earth. (If there’s no air resistance they hit the ground at the same time.)
It pulls us, too! Ask your child: If you jump up in the air, will you stay up, or will gravity pull you down? Jump up and see.

Recopila varios objetos pequeños como los mencionados anteriormente. (Nota: No utilices objetos como papel arrugado o plumas).
Pregúntale a tu niño: Si dejas caer dos cosas a la vez, desde la misma altura, ¿cuál predices que llegará al suelo primero?
Dejen caer los objetos y vean lo que pasa. Prueben con objetos de diferentes pesos. Recuérdale a tu niño que la gravedad hace que las cosas caigan. La gravedad hala las cosas hacia la Tierra. (Sin la resistencia del aire, llegan al suelo al mismo tiempo).
¡También nos hala! Pregúntale a tu niño: Si das un salto, ¿te quedas arriba o te hala la gravedad hacia abajo? Salta a ver qué pasa.
