Art Activity
Make Medals!
Materials: paper, scissors, and string (optional)
Materials: paper, scissors, and string (optional)
Explain to your child that sometimes people get medals for winning a game or competition. But this activity will have them make medals for the wonderful qualities that people have!
First, have your child make a list of friends and family members the child would like to give medals to.
Then, make circles on pieces of paper. The circles should be big enough that your child can write inside them.
Next, your child will write inside each circle. They can write the person’s name if they want. Then they can write what the award is for. Here are some ideas:
Award for Showing Kindness
Award for Always Cleaning Up
Award for Being a Great Friend/Brother/Sister
Award for Being a Great Listener
Award for Being Creative
Finally, cut out the medals. Your child can hand them out as they are, perhaps putting tape on the back so they can stick to clothing. Or, if string is available, poke a small hole at the top of the medal and thread the string through the hole. That way, the medal can be worn around the neck!
Optional: Have an “awards ceremony” where your child presents the medals to people standing on a podium. Just like the Olympics!
Actividad de arte
¡Haz medallas!
Materiales: papel, tijeras e hilo (opcional)
Materiales: papel, tijeras e hilo (opcional)
